As I head off to bed just wanted to post a little bit more for everyone that I couldn't get out on my phone.
As I said, Grandmommy was moved to another room. Someone noticed that the visiting hours was only until 8pm! I'm not sure, I didn't see the sign but I will look for it tomorrow and confirm.
The room that she is in now is a bit bigger but she has a roommate. Not sure how that is gonna work out since Grandmommy has a lot of traffic going in and out her room (yall know we a BIG family, and no body wants to leave her side until they kick us out...lol). WE are gonna give those poor people a headache I sure... LOL but hopefully all the laughter and love that comes from her visitors will be received well by her roommate. The only saving grace is that I think they still have the same rule where only 2 people are allowed in the room at one time....smh...We will see.
Someone is staying with her tonight (not really sure if its an overnight stay but they get to stay after closing). Grandmommy is really happy about this.
Oh, I heard that Grandmommy is no longer on an IV. The only thing that she is connected to is the monitors. Progress...Progress... PROGRESS...God is so good. She is getting stronger every time I see her. Her therapy is going well. It's gonna be a long process but Grandmommy is so strong I know she will be kicking butt and taking names in no time.
Gotta work tomorrow and then will head over to the hospital. Hopefully I will have better luck with getting a signal so that I can post updates earlier than today. Will also try to get a few pictures posted too.
Till tomorrow, Good night.
It was a great visit last night. I echo everything that Carmen posted. LOL. Just to add a little, mom's speech and memory took a small beating but her strength appears to have taken a big beating. She looks good and strong laying back on the bed; however, I watch with great anxiety as the physical therapist attempted to move her from the bed to the recliner. It is a challenge for her to hold her body upright unassisted. She is not able to stand at all. Her neck is weak and after a few seconds of sitting the therapist had to hold her head.
ReplyDeleteHer right leg is going to be a challenge for the therapist. She screamed in pain and begged him to stop as he lift it and proceeded to bend it and push her knee toward her chest. (yes I wanted to yell stop too, but I didn't) I simply said mom, this is the fight... This will help. My broken heart will mend. :-) Keep the faith. I am. I love my family for all the love and support. I love my friends and thanks also to you for all the love and support.
